SASTA operates under the aegis of the South African Sugar Association, but is governed under its own constitution by a council elected by its members. A council provides leadership with regards to the strategic direction and financial stability of the association. Council also provides oversight of all matters relating to governance, regulatory policies, procedures and obligations of SASTA.
