It was founded in 1952 with the goal of exploring and promoting innovation in the field of communication technologies, resulting in their growth. Their services range from publishing to organising conferences, fostering educational programmes, and promoting local activities, as well as serving on technical committees. They have a great deal of success organising conferences and events on current issues all over the world because they provide a premier international forum for the exchange of ideas on communications technologies and information networking.
