Overseas, there is a federally registered bioenergy association (BBE) The German bioenergy industry is represented by the Federal Association of Bioenergy eV (BBE). The companies in the BBE are grouped throughout the full value chain of the biogenic electricity, heat, and fuel market: from biomass production and supply to mechanical and plant engineering, and finally to the planning and operation of bioenergy plants in diverse sectors. The BBE represents the interests of over 150 firms and professional groups in Germany's bioenergy industry as its umbrella organisation.
