Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists

The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists is a large organisation dedicated to raising professional standards and ensuring patient safety in all areas of anaesthesia. This organisation promotes an understanding of the science and practise of anaesthesia in intensive care and pain medicine. This college is also known by its abbreviation, ANZCA. This non-profit organization’s history can be traced back to 1934, when the Australian Society of Anaesthetists was founded. This organisation took on its current shape in 1992. The President of ANZCA is Professor Kate Leslie, and the Chief Executive Officer is Ms Linda Sorrell. The organization’s headquarters are in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The organization’s major event is the Annual Scientific Meeting, or ASM.
