The Academy of Marketing (AM) is a Learned Society catering for the needs of Marketing researchers, educators and professionals. The Academy steers and aims to lead Marketing research and education in the UK, and represents the Marketing subject area nationally and internationally.
The Academy provides a forum for the exchange of knowledge and ideas, and is an important networking and support mechanism for Doctoral Students, new and established Marketing Academics, Heads of Departments and international Chairs of Marketing. The Academy is an important voice in representing the academic Marketing community and facilitating the exchange of information and ideas among people in academic, private and government professions who are concerned with education in Marketing.
Whilst the Academy is based in the UK, around a third of its members are international. The Academy has 22 Special Interest Groups (SIGs) which provide an ongoing focus for scholarly activity, and 2 Sub-Committees devoted to Research and Education. 2017 marks the 50th Annual Conference, attended by approx. 400 delegates from around the world, and this runs alongside the AM’s established Doctoral Colloquium, as well as other workshops and events through the year. There is also a programme of annual Research and Education funding, prizes and bursaries sponsored by the Academy and partnering organisations.
