Topical tax tips – hosted by ICAEW Lincoln

A CPD course, hosted by ICAEW Lincoln, looking at the latest developments in direct and indirect taxes. This session will look at current issues in direct and indirect tax, offering guidance on optimising the tax position of clients and ensuring compliance with the law. It will use recent case decisions to highlight how laws operate in practice and examples of where HMRC and taxpayers disagree on its application. The presenter will also use consultancy queries received from firms of accountants to highlight areas of uncertainty or misunderstanding in the profession. Malcolm is an ICAEW Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor. He was previously director of finance and taxation programmes at BPP professional education and has delivered IFRS, US GAAP, UK tax and VAT training to a multitude of organisations worldwide since 1992. Malcolm has particular experience in delivering bespoke training programmes to multinationals in the financial services, transport and energy sectors as well as delivering UK tax and VAT update programmes to accounting and law firms.
