The University of Hong Kong hosted the first international conference on biodiversity, ecology, and conservation of marine ecosystems (BECoME-2015) in June of that year with great success. With 280 attendees from 26 countries, and over 200 abstracts submitted, this was the first time the conference had ever been held. The Second BECoME Conference will be held at City University of Hong Kong from January 2-8, 2022, building on the first conference’s success. The BECoME-2022 Conference will help to promote the international Convention on Biological Diversity. We hope that it will provide a useful forum for scientists to discuss the most recent findings, accomplishments and perspectives on critical global marine biodiversity issues with students, young researchers and government officials at a time when they are most needed. A global network and international collaborations can be established with the help of the BECoME-2022, which facilitates participation.
