At the beginning of 2020 the world entered an unprecedented period having to deal with a global pandemic and a resulting economic slowdown. All industrial sectors were affected with recovery speculative and uncertain, but one dynamic emerged as a constant; the energy transition is accelerating us to a net zero future, and our Oil and Gas Industry has a significant part to play.
Our industry has the breadth, depth, diversity, technical skills and financial resources to actively lead and innovate through the transition. We will bring the technical and commercial innovation strength synonymous with our industry, combined with the necessary low carbon business models, the adoption of green credentials, cultural change within our organisations and the need to attract, train, develop and retain a new breed of talent demanding a net zero future.
OE2021 will show and share best practice with the backdrop of the energy transition landscape. We look specifically at what is happening in our very own evolving and innovative region showcasing early adopters and embracers, but also debate what else needs to be done together as industry to reach our collective net zero goal.
