The International Gastroenterological Dissemination Forum (IDDF) was founded in 2011 to give emerging investigators professional development opportunities overseas. Since 2013, IDDF has offered over 900 travel grants to applicants with the best abstract submissions. The first Joseph Sung Lecture and Tzu-leung Ho Lecture were given, and the Young Investigator Award was also inaugurated. The International Digestive Disease Forum (IDDF) has been held at The Chinese University of Hong Kong since 2016, with the forum’s first partnerships with leading international journals Gut and Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The founder of the IDD assembled a multidisciplinary team to bring together the best patient care, research and education in gastroenterological disorders. The spirit of collaboration fosters IDD’s development into a giant institute that comprises a PRC government approved State Key Laboratory, a Hepatitis B Research Centre and an IBD and FMT Research Unit.
CUHK was founded in 1963 in response to society’s demand for higher education that would combine and bring out the best of Chinese and western cultures. The ideal, which at that time rallied to action many scholars and thinkers, still rings true in today’s Hong Kong, whose continued success hinges on openness and diversity.
