There will be a discussion about how South Korea’s politics and international relations have changed since the first Republic was established in 1948 at the IKSU Annual International Conference ahead of the presidential election in 2022. Especially in relation to North Korea and relationships with neighbouring countries, South Korea’s foreign policy is highly dependent on the U.S. presidency. As a result, this conference will look at South Korean politics and international relations from the past, present, and future. We’ll publish an edited collection of the best papers from the conference after it’s over. We invite submissions from a wide range of academic disciplines. Additionally, PhD students and early-career researchers are encouraged to apply, as well as academics at all stages of their careers in a relevant area.
The first day of the conference will be held at Preston’s University of Central Lancashire’s main campus, and the second day will be held at Lancashire’s Samlesbury Hall, a magnificent 14th century manor house and gardens.
