Housing Finance Agencies (HFAs) have played an important role in the nation's affordable housing system for over 50 years, providing financing to make affordable homes and rental apartments available to low- and middle-income families for the purchase, development, rehabilitation, and rental of all kinds. In order to help the nation's state HFAs and their partners provide affordable housing to those who need it, the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) was established as a nonprofit, nonpartisan organisation.
