Event Description

This seminar teaches you the basics of materials technology and aims to present the essential microstructural characteristics of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The occurring hardening and softening mechanisms are considered in the context of the forming process and how they change along the process chain. Methods for experimental material characterization are explained and how this data can be used as a model for numerical process design.
