Diet and Metabolic Therapeutics in Cancer

Dietary procedures are commonly used to treat metabolism diseases, with profound effects on health. While cancer has an important metabolic component, it is in its early stages to develop principles to determine whether nutrition and new metabolic therapies are used to influence tumour outcomes. However, the aim of metabolic paths with a long history of chemotherapy or radiation sometimes leads to controlled therapeutic results. On the other hand, it is not well known whether specific dietary interventions can influence the metabolism of standard cancer treatments. Recent work has now shown that caloric intake changes, macronutrient composition, and the balance of specific dietary macronutrients also affect cancer.
