The following narrative describes over 100 years of AACR history. From the simple beginning of a few scientists gathering to share information to the multifaceted organization that exists today, the growth of the AACR reflects the increasing complexity of our our understanding of the collection of devastating diseases we now know as cancer.

The American Association for Cancer Research, or AACR, was established on May 7th, 1907, and is a premier scientific organisation that is dedicated to the promotion of cancer prevention and treatment methods through research communication education and cooperation. This organisation, which has 33000 lab translational and clinical cancer researchers as members, actively supports cancer research and related biomedical science and encourages the exchange of new research findings and innovations among scientists and other related professionals by creating platforms to bring them together. Margaret Foti is the CEO of AACR and currently oversees the organization's operations. The organization's headquarters are in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where it will host the International Conference on Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research and the International Conference on Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics, among others, very soon.
